prep before the storm

Barely into the election week and its already apparent the opponent is planning on starting full throttle. So apart from catching up on a few modules, i planned out everywhere the posters will be allocated to, even separated them into colour coded folders incase i get too busy and have to delegate some poster runs to my amazing wee campaign team.

So posters are apparently plastered everywhere at the uni according to inside sources (namely conrad catching up on his work in the labs over the weekend) This got me thinking while i was allocting posters to where ie  students halls, campus and off campus.... a hundred odd posters is not that much.....so how will i plaster the uni? simple more posters.
However rules of this campaign require all extra posters/banners to be handmade..... fine.
Just like everyone else, ill use what i have to my advantage. im an art student, i have paint, i clearly have folders for the posters, why wouldnt i have paint, and i live in a rural area, so i have access to things city ones dont really, ie a builders yard. As you can see below, with a bit of persuading i borrowed my mammys old drill, and got myself 30 or so plywood boards. Took a trip to poundland and got some spray paint.
Tomorrow whilst painting the tshirts, me and my team will also be painting these boards (nothing fancy, just simple, vote claire) ill drill some holes and get cable ties and there you have it.... make shift posters.

as sugar is a basic food group for me, you will see slushies and junk food in most photos throughout this campaign.

So im dreading the amount of work ahead of me, especially since i seem to be on my own for the first half of this week, but im still super excited. Today i suppose was more rallying the troops and getting the supplies, rather than actual campaigning. Tomorrow will consist of class....broken up by a question your candidates time in the union at lunch eep. for all of you that will attend, fair warning, im not the best public speaker.
Then after class itll be all about getting the initial posters up and the boards/shirts painted.

I wasnt having the best weekend to be honest, amoung other things, and the campaign i wasnt really in a fighting spirit, but i plucked up the motivation to say forget them, forget what they say or did, ill do this..... just you wait and see!
So in amoung my despair at not being good enough, i figured, what do i have that the others dont? and again i jumped back at creativity, so this evening ive started a (woeful) short animation, more of a digital animatic to be honest. but it is quirky and i think its a more personal approach than some others would do.
Once i get the final shot (when the shirts are ready) ill upload it and hopefully that will let the people know their options. Ill also upload it here (likely tuesday) so look forward to that :)

Tomorrow will definitely be an interesting/busy one, wish me luck !
